We became involved in hunt tests with the birth of our first competitive dog, HRCH “Katy” MH20 in 2008.  AJS Labs began in earnest in 2015 with the birth of our first litter.  We desired to improve upon the talent of our foundation dam, Katy. We also wanted to participate in a greater variety of events. This led us to Mossy Pond Retrievers, where two of her puppies were trained. MPR is where we eventually acquired our big man, SRSC “Mamba,” MH MNH GAA, who became our first dog to run in the Super Retriever Series and pass AKC Master National.  From there, we have sought to create a team of champions, both male and female, who are the best at the highest level of competition.  We also put our dogs through stringent health testing and look for pleasant personalities both at and away from the line. Two of our current champions come from our breeding program.  We breed dogs we want to own and make the breed better.
